VISUAL POETRY

A wise mentor once told me at the outset of my career, “rendering is what a computer does, what you do is visual storytelling”, since then I understood the art of visualization.

Technology has made the rendering process less complex and more accessible, but it takes more than technical skills to create a good visual, it involves observing the physical world around you and understanding how light and materials behave, what evokes emotion in people and communicates the idea across, experimenting with different mediums to train the artistic eye, takes time and passion in a continuous learning process to master the craft of visualization.

My journey starts with Architecture, and a defining epoch in my life is the study of architecture. One of my favorite childhood memories back in Lima, Peru, was sitting in the back seat of the car while my mother drove me to school. As we approach the city of Miraflores (the location of my school) high rises started surrounding my view and I would look up counting floors in multiple of 3’s since I just had a few seconds after new high rises appeared. As a went through architecture school and learned that architecture goes beyond high rises.

ARCHITECTURAL VISUALIZATION

I had the opportunity to work at DBOX, one of the most prestigious agencies in the architectural visualization industry. During my time at DBOX I honed my artistic and technical skills to produce compelling visuals for the world’s top architecture firms. I was involved in CGI, architectural and VR photography, animation, compositing, and scripting.
